Apricorn vs Everything But Stromboli Specs
Security Features
The Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3NX is built for high security. It uses 256-Bit AES XTS encryption to protect your data. It also meets FIPS 140-2 Level 3 standards. This makes it ideal for sensitive business or government files. The Everything But Stromboli bundle does not list any encryption. It relies on standard storage without hardware locks. If you need to keep confidential information safe from unauthorized access, the Apricorn drive is the clear choice. You should pick this option when security is your main priority.
Connector Type
The Everything But Stromboli bundle includes SanDisk drives with dual connectors. You get both USB Type-A and USB-C ports on each drive. This allows you to plug it into older computers and newer phones easily. The Apricorn drive lists only USB 3.1. It does not mention a Type-C connector in the provided specs. You will need an adapter if you want to use the Apricorn drive with a USB-C port. The dual connector design offers more flexibility for modern devices without extra accessories.
Storage Capacity
The Everything But Stromboli bundle provides 32GB of storage per drive. The Apricorn drive model number suggests an 8GB capacity. The data does not explicitly state the Apricorn capacity, but the model number is a strong indicator. If you need more space for large files, the 32GB option is better. You can store more documents, photos, or videos on the SanDisk drives. The smaller capacity of the Apricorn unit limits how much data you can carry. Choose the bundle if you require ample space for everyday files.
USB Version
Both products utilize USB 3.1 technology. The Apricorn drive specifies USB 3.1. The Everything But Stromboli bundle specifies USB 3.1 Gen 1. This means both can achieve similar high-speed data transfer rates. You do not need to worry about a significant speed difference between the two based on the interface version alone. Both support fast transfers for typical file sizes. The performance will depend more on the drive internals and the port you use. This aspect is a tie as both meet modern speed standards.
Pack Quantity
The Everything But Stromboli bundle contains five flash drives. It also includes lanyards for each one. The Apricorn drive is sold as a single unit. If you need multiple drives for a team or to swap between devices, the bundle saves you from buying separately. You get five ready-to-use drives with the Everything But Stromboli option. The Apricorn option is better if you only need one secure drive. Consider how many drives you actually need before deciding on the quantity.
