Looking Beyond the Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 128GB Flash? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How Each Alternative Compares

TEAMGROUP C175 128GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive

The TEAMGROUP C175 drops the protective cap for a sleek, capless design that reduces clutter on your keychain. You get standard USB 3.2 connectivity and a stated read speed of 100MB/s. This drive is slightly larger, measuring 4.84 inches in length compared to the Exodia's compact form. It is a practical choice if you prefer a minimalist aesthetic and do not mind leaving the connector exposed. The lack of a cap means you must be careful not to lose the small protective piece, if it exists separately. It fits users who want straightforward storage without extra bulk or mechanical parts that can break.

Lexar JumpDrive S80 128GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive

The Lexar JumpDrive S80 offers a faster read speed of 150MB/s, which is noticeably quicker than the Exodia's standard USB 3.2 performance. It features a retractable cap that slides into the body, eliminating the need to manage a loose cap or a large loop. The drive is compact, measuring 2.22 inches in length and weighing only 0.32 ounces. This makes it easier to carry in a pocket without snagging. You trade the Exodia's key ring loop for a more streamlined profile. If you prioritize speed and a secure, cap-less design over physical attachment points, this drive is a strong alternative for daily file transfers.

Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3 NXC 128GB

The Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3 NXC focuses on security rather than convenience. It uses a USB-C connector, which may require an adapter for older USB-A ports. The drive includes 256-bit AES encryption and meets FIPS 140-2 Level 3 standards for sensitive data protection. It is heavier at 0.8 ounces and slightly longer than the Exodia. You give up the key ring loop and simple plug-and-play ease for certified hardware security. This drive is ideal for users who need to protect confidential files against theft or unauthorized access. It is a specialized tool for secure storage rather than a general-purpose drive for casual file sharing.

Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 128GB USB Drive

This Kingston Exodia model is very similar to the original, featuring USB 3.2 speeds and a protective cap. It weighs 0.39 ounces and measures 2.65 inches in length, making it slightly lighter and shorter than the 128GB Exodia 128GB Flash Drive (B09GKZHXQY). It also includes a large loop for key rings. The main difference is the specific model number and slight dimensional variations. You get the same practical design with a cap and loop. If you find this version at a different price point or availability, it serves the same purpose. It is a solid choice for users who value the physical convenience of a loop and cap protection for everyday storage needs.

PNY 128GB Elite-X Metal USB 3.2 Drive

The PNY Elite-X Metal USB 3.2 Drive features a durable metal casing, offering better protection against drops and crushes compared to the Exodia's plastic body. It is larger, measuring 5.25 inches in length and 0.25 inches in height. The drive weighs 0.48 ounces. You gain robustness and a premium feel, but lose the compact size and key ring loop of the Exodia. The metal construction helps with heat dissipation during heavy use. This drive is best for users who carry their storage in bags or pockets where it might get bumped or squeezed. It is a sturdy option for those who prioritize physical durability over portability and convenience features.

Kingston 128GB Kyson Metal USB Drive

The Kingston DataTraveler Kyson Metal USB 3.2 Drive offers a read speed of 200MB/s, which is significantly faster than the Exodia's standard USB 3.2 performance. It features a metal casing for added durability, similar to the PNY option. The drive is compact, with no specific dimensions listed, but it lacks a key ring loop. You trade the Exodia's attachment convenience for higher transfer speeds and a rugged build. This drive is ideal for users who frequently move large files and need faster read times. It fits those who value performance and durability over the ability to attach the drive to a keychain for easy access.
