Comparing the top alternatives
TEAMGROUP C175 64GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive
The TeamGroup C175 shares the 64GB capacity and 100 MB/s read speed of the Lexar A30E. It uses a cap-less design with a retractable USB connector, which removes the risk of losing a cap. This drive is slightly longer and heavier than the Lexar unit. You lose the push-button retraction mechanism and the DataShield encryption software found in the A30E. The TeamGroup model is a practical choice if you want a simple, durable drive without software requirements. It suits users who prioritize physical simplicity over file protection features.
Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3 NXC 64GB USB-C Drive
The Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3 NXC offers 256-bit AES hardware encryption certified to FIPS 140-3 Level 3 standards. This provides a higher security tier than the Lexar A30E’s software-based DataShield. It features a USB-C connector, making it compatible with modern laptops and devices that lack USB-A ports. The drive is slightly shorter but thicker than the Lexar model. You give up the convenient push-button retraction and the multi-pack value. This option is best for professionals handling sensitive data who require certified hardware encryption and USB-C connectivity for secure transfers.
Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 64GB Flash Drive
The Kingston DataTraveler Exodia provides 64GB storage with a protective cap and a built-in key loop. It lacks the encryption features and push-button retraction of the Lexar A30E. The drive is slightly shorter and lighter than the Lexar unit. It uses a standard cap design rather than a retractable mechanism. This model suits users who value physical security features like a key ring for attaching the drive to a bag or keys. It is a straightforward option for basic storage needs on standard USB ports without the need for password-protected file storage.
Kingston DataTraveler Kyson 64GB Metal USB Flash Drive
The Kingston DataTraveler Kyson features a metal casing for enhanced durability compared to the plastic Lexar A30E. It offers 64GB capacity and solid read performance. The drive is significantly smaller and lighter than the Lexar model, making it highly portable. It lacks the push-button retraction and encryption software found in the A30E. The metal build provides better resistance to physical damage. This option is ideal for users who prioritize a sturdy, compact drive for everyday file transfers and do not require advanced security features or retractable connectors.
Kingston DataTraveler 70 64GB USB-C Flash Drive
The Kingston DataTraveler 70 uses a USB-C connector, unlike the USB Type-A connector on the Lexar A30E. It provides 64GB of storage with basic USB 3.2 performance. The drive lacks encryption and the push-button retraction mechanism of the Lexar model. It is a compact option for users with USB-C ports who need portable storage. You give up the security features and the convenience of a retractable design. This drive suits users who prioritize connector compatibility with modern devices over the advanced features and USB-A versatility of the Lexar A30E.
Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 64GB 2-Pack
The Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 2-Pack offers two 64GB drives with protective caps and key loops. It shares the USB 3.2 Gen 1 speed with the Lexar A30E but lacks encryption and push-button retraction. The individual drives are slightly shorter and lighter than the Lexar unit. This pack provides better value for users needing multiple basic drives. It suits those who prioritize physical security features like key rings over file protection. You give up the software-based encryption and the sleek retractable design of the Lexar A30E in favor of simple, durable storage with a protective cap.
