MOVE Speed vs EAGET Specs
Read Speed
Transfer speeds are a key factor for large files. The EAGET drive offers a maximum read speed of up to 560MB/s. This is faster than the MOVE Speed drive, which tops out at 520MB/s. Both drives utilize USB 3.2 technology to achieve these rates. The EAGET gain of 40MB/s may help when moving large video files or backups. If you frequently handle large media libraries, the higher throughput of the EAGET model is noticeable. The MOVE Speed still provides solid performance for general use. However, the EAGET has the edge in raw speed metrics.
Connector Types
Both drives feature dual connectors for versatile use. The EAGET model includes both USB-C and USB-A ports. This allows direct connection to older computers and modern devices. The MOVE Speed drive offers a USB 3.2 interface and a Type-C interface. While both support Type-C for phones, the MOVE Speed listing does not explicitly confirm a standard USB-A port in its key specs. The EAGET explicitly lists USB-A as a connector type. This makes the EAGET more compatible with legacy desktops without needing adapters. The EAGET has a clear advantage in connector variety.
Build Material
Durability is important for portable storage. Both manufacturers use zinc alloy for the main body. This metal construction provides resistance to shock, drops, and general wear. The MOVE Speed listing also mentions waterproof and dust-proof properties alongside the metal case. The EAGET drive highlights its zinc alloy body as premium and durable. Both units include protective cases, with EAGET specifying a leather case and MOVE Speed a generic drive case. The core build quality appears similar, relying on metal for protection. This results in a tie for build material quality.
Storage Capacity
Storage needs vary by user. Both the MOVE Speed and EAGET drives are available in a 512GB configuration. This capacity is sufficient for thousands of documents or several hours of video. The MOVE Speed listing also shows variations for 1TB, 2TB, and 2TB PRO options. The EAGET listing shows variations for 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. If you need more than 512GB, the MOVE Speed offers higher capacity tiers. For the 512GB model being compared, the capacity is identical. Both meet the same storage requirement for this specific comparison.
Write Speed
Writing data is often slower than reading it. The MOVE Speed drive specifies a write speed of up to 450MB/s. The EAGET listing does not provide a specific write speed figure in the key specs or features. It only highlights the read speed of up to 560MB/s. Without explicit data for the EAGET write performance, a direct comparison is not possible. The MOVE Speed provides transparency on both read and write metrics. This clarity is useful for planning large file transfers. Since the EAGET data is missing this detail, the MOVE Speed has the edge for specified write performance.
Compatibility
Both drives support plug-and-play functionality across devices. They work with Android phones, iPhones, PCs, and Macs. The MOVE Speed explicitly lists compatibility with iPhone 15 and 16 series. The EAGET listing mentions iPhone 15, 16, and 17 Pro models. This suggests the EAGET may support newer iPhone models out of the box. Both support USB-C devices and standard computers. The EAGET also mentions compatibility with PS5 and car audio systems. The MOVE Speed lists car audio and smart TVs. Both offer broad compatibility, resulting in a tie.
Which USB Drive Suits Your Needs
Users needing faster file transfers
The EAGET drive offers a maximum read speed of up to 560MB/s. This is faster than the MOVE Speed drive, which tops out at 520MB/s. If you frequently move large video files or high-resolution photos, the extra 40MB/s read speed helps you finish tasks sooner. Both drives use USB 3.2 technology for efficient data movement.
Those wanting standard USB-A compatibility
The MOVE Speed drive includes a USB 3.2 interface alongside the Type-C port. This allows you to plug it directly into older computers or laptops that only have standard USB-A slots. The EAGET model lists both USB-C and USB-A connectors in its specs, but the MOVE Speed explicitly highlights this dual utility for broad device compatibility.
Travelers seeking protective storage gear
The EAGET package includes a premium leather case for scratch protection and portability. This adds a layer of physical security for your drive while on the go. The MOVE Speed drive comes with a standard USB drive case. If you prefer a more durable, stylish carrying option for your 512GB storage, the EAGET leather case is the better choice.
